Latest Beauty Purchases

I've been reallly good and have cut down my spending on new beauty products since I bought my house, but when I popped into Boots last week and they had a 3 for 2 on makeup, I couldn't resist.

From left to right I bought:

1) Blistex Intensive Moisturiser: I bought this for the first time last year and it was great over the Winter months at keeping my poor chapped lips moisturised. I love the tingle you get on your lips after you apply it, just be careful to rub it in properly if you use it during the day, as it leaves your lips quite white.

2 and 3) Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and Concealer: I've heard good things about this foundation so I've been wanting to buy it for a while, I also picked up the concealer. I've been using it mixed with my usual Lancome foundation and the Bourjois shade 52 is an almost identical match to Lancome's 010. I'll do a full review on the foundation later, but so far I'm having mixes results.

4) Benefit They're Real: Another re-purchase, I love the length it adds to my eyelashes.

5) Maybelline Dream Fresh BB: I've not tried a BB cream yet, so I was curious to see how well they would work on my skin. So far I am impressed with this product and I have noticed it's made my foundation last longer into the day. I'll do a full review once I've been using it for a couple of weeks.

So that's what I bought on my most recent trip to Boots, did I miss anything new and exciting that I should put on my wishlist?

Superdrug Tea Tree Mud Mask

My skin has been pretty terrible lately, lots of deep painful spots and whilst I would love to splash out on the Alpha-H Miracle Gold that I've seen so many bloggers rave about, I just can't afford it at the moment.

So I was looking around my local Superdrug for something else that I could try when I found this Tea Tree  Mud Mask. I've found Tea Tree products effective for clearing up my skin in the past and as it was cheap I thought it was worth a try.

The mask had a strange smell - the combination of tea tree oil and peppermint, it wasn't awful, just not the nicest smelling facemask I've ever tried.

The consistency of the mask was nice and thick and there was probably enough in the packet for 2 applications. Once dry the mask was tight but not uncomfortably so and it washed off nicely.

Since applying the facemask last weekend I have had less spots, so I would happily buy this mask again next time my skin needs a little help.

I've set up this blog so I have a space to review products I've tried.
